Glorious greenery

This summer  seems to be endless and it is certainly inspiring our interiors at present. The botanical theme is not going away any time soon and it is a trend that is really easy to add to both a contemporary or traditional scheme. Here are some ways we have been adding a botanical twist to existing schemes for our clients.

Designers guild have the traditional box firmly ticked with its stunning Groussay Vert Buis fabric  collection, which evokes a real thirties feel and is perfect for an orangery or garden room. Just by adding a few cushions to an existing room will instantly change things up, particularly as the fabric is so striking and compliments rattan furniture perfectly.

For those of us who want to add a more glam feel with the Botanic trend: Manuel Canovas has us covered. The striking Morny collection has some really interesting colourways and has used geometrics to balance the more natural images in the collection. We particularly love the burnished gold/olive fabric  Derain Anis and the petrol Cote d Azur to bring that South of France style glamour to our schemes. Re-upholstering a small footstool is a really effective way to use the fabric without having to change larger pieces, adding a few cushions from the same collection means you instantly have a pulled together and cohesive scheme without having to re-do too much.

Faux succulents and Ferns are all over Instagram at the minute, they are a super quick way to add some greenery to a room and they work particularly well in Bathrooms as they soften the overall look and are  of course perfect for the non green fingered amongst us.

Another quick way of working the botanic trend into your current scheme is to add some prints, Simply framed  prints are ideal in a more contemporary room where as a more traditionally framed stylised image would work better in an elegant setting. The mirrored frame in this scheme add instant glamour and is a timeless look.

We are loving the idea of bringing some of that glorious greenery from outside into our homes and hope you’ve been inspired to give this trend a try too.
