So we’ve talked about it forever, but today, determined to get there before this amazing weather breaks, we headed A1 North to Riley’s Fish Shack for lunch on the beach!

Wow, it was worth the schlep, and we’ll be back, for longer next time!

Situated on the sand at King Edwards Bay, Tynemouth, this shack ticks ALL the boxes, well… if you’re looking for freshly landed, amazingly cooked fish, served up by enthusiastic staff in the perfect environment (sand between your toes, ocean vista, great tunes… you get the picture?) then it does anyway…

The menu is forever changing but typically you will find lobster, mackerel, red mullet, chilli fish & vegetable empanadas, wraps, chargrilled squid, I could go on…. all accompanied by homemade flat breads and sourdough cooked in the wood fired oven, and salads and salsa verde.
