Spring clean your garden this April

Now that the weather is finally warming up it’s time to tackle those grimy areas of the garden where leaves and rain and dirt have accumulated over winter. Gloves at the ready! Get your sheds and greenhouses cleaned and swept and ready for action.

Spruce up your patio with a power washer and clean any patio containers ready for filling with beautiful plants.

Prune your untidy plants like lavender – give it a good trim all over but be careful not to cut into old wood.

De-clutter your daffs by deadheading them but leave foliage in place to die back naturally.

If you think that evergreen tree or shrub is in the wrong place now is the time to move it into a new position – avoid frozen ground days though.

If you want to avoid plants falling over each other later in the year do put plant supports in place now for taller varieties – they’ll be so much neater and easier to admire!

Keep your lawn looking trim with regular cuts and using an edging tool to give it a smart edging on a dry day.

Finally, the best Spring clean is achieved when you weed weed weed!
