Summer white

Diez Siglos (2)

Diez Siglos – Verdejo – Rueda – Spain – 12.5% – 750ml – £8.00

Whether you think we’re in the golden age of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, or think you are tired of the “Sauv-alanche”, this white is a must-try for any white wine lover.

Verdejo (the grape on show here) is the king of tapas white wines all over Spain. It’s easy to see why. It displays bright citrus fruit notes, plus hints of orchard fruits and a backbone of herby nuances almost akin to fennel.

This makes it great sunshine drinking and very seafood friendly all at once. Pop the Oyster/Cloudy/Clifford Bays to one side for a while and revel in this compatible, yet different, crisp dry white.

Available at Ake & Humphris, Elizabeth Court, Collingham
