The lace up pointy flat

This shoe has been like crack cocaine to Instagram devotees everywhere. First spawned by Isabel Marant this shoe has been a slow burner but is now available up and down the high street and all over the internet like a well-meaning rash.

It looks like a ballet flat has been taken apart and sewn back together using the back of a corset for inspiration but don’t let that stop you. What with trainers back on the fashion radar, these shoes are another flat godsend to pull together off duty outfits with aplomb.

Here at Earth, Wit & Style we understand the importance of getting a bit more wear from your wardrobe so we’d opt for a black pair. That way they’ll see you through this season and on into that tricky transitional summer to autumn bit later in the year. Only 1 word of warning – check the weather before wearing them. They let the rain in and as most of them are made of suede, they need leather protecting before you head out to meet the changeable British weather head-on.

Style with skinny and girlfriend jeans, 7/8 trousers and with a midi skirt if you have both the pins and the frame to pull it off. They also look incredibly stylish paired with a vintage summer frock. If you are wearing them with denim just give the bottom of your jeans a bit of a roll up and let your fashion nouse shine from your ankles, just as style intended.
